Hey all, lately I’ve been tired of seeing more poor MiSTer FPGA board sitting around naked, so I’ve been considering getting one of the many adapters out there to put it into a proper Mini-ITX PC case.

Here are some of the options that I know about and have been considering:

Jammix – Pretty cool but also pretty expensive. As someone who mostly just uses their MiSTer to play on HDTVs via HDMI, it does way more than I personally need (analog i/o, jamma).

Ironclad Plus – Similar to the Jammix, but without Jamma edge connectors. Still way overkill for me and also on the expensive side. Also seems to be out of stock more often than Jammix.

ATLANTIS for MiSTer – Cheap as chips, but seemingly pretty bare bones. Does the job of allowing you to mount your MiSTer in an ITX-compatible case, and seems to support various power supply hookups, but it looks like there is some DIY work and possibly soldering involved. Also, seems to be out of stock right now.

3D printable ITX adapters – I have a 3D printer, so I’m open to the idea of printing out an ITX adapter jig, but I’d be missing out on a lot of the convenience of the more expensive options when it comes to routing I/O, power handling, etc.

So anyway, I’m thinking about it! What do you all think about the various ITX mounting options? Do you have a case for your MiSTer system?

I got an Ironclad earlier this year and couldn’t be happier. It may be out of stock at the moment but new stock keeps coming in. It is not cheap but it is plug&play and works great.

Nice! Right now I’m leaning towards just buying an ITX case and seeing how far I can take things with 3d printed parts and adapters. I know that the end result will never be quite a nicely put together as either the Ironclad or the Jammix though.

Ironclad all the way, never regretted it, yes it is expensive, but so is a mister setup generally, and the IO is the best you can get atm!
I do not have a need for a jamma board, so why bother with the Jammix?
