The clucking nuisance of about 100 feral chickens has left residents of a Norfolk village spitting feathers, with locals claiming the birds destroy their gardens and keep them awake.
Dwellers in Snettisham, Norfolk, have said their life is being made “hell” as the chickens swarm in from a nearby wood. It is unclear who owns the land the chickens live on, but villagers believe numbers have soared recently.
They also complained of an influx of people travelling to see the birds and leaving food for them, which is attracting rats. This has created a febrile atmosphere, with reports of rising tensions between residents and visitor
I mean, it ain’t that hard to make soup. It’s an easy enough fix lol.
If in doubt, make soup.
When life gives you chickens you make chickenade!
Mmmmm chickenade.
“Sounds like chicken is back on the menu boys!!!”
Thing about chickens yeah?
They’re made of chicken! Actually made of fucking chicken!Kill one, and you’ve got a free chicken! Or… don’t kill it… Fucking eggs come out it’s arse!
YOU CANNOT LOOSE!
I played this South Park game on the N64. It sucked.
Is it sad that I actually have quite fond memories of playing it?
I’m reading every quote from the article as if they’re coming from a Skyrim NPC and it’s rather hilarious
If the entire village is in agreement that the chickens are a nuisance, and they are indeed wreaking havoc on people’s gardens, etc: the villagers collectively setting up traps would be justified.
At some point, either whoever owns those chickens needs to pick up the slack and corral them, or they need to suck it up when the villagers take matters into their own hands.
the villagers collectively setting up traps would be justified.
Do you really need a trap for a chicken? They are hardly the most cunning of creatures - just pick one up.
The major issue is that most people aren’t used to killing and preparing animals but a canny local butcher could offer a “slaughtered while you wait” service for a couple of quid and the problem would go away in a week. Although if they were that canny there’d be a trail of corn leading to the slaughter room. I’m surprised a cheeky chicken shop hasn’t sent to lads down in a van because that’s basically free chickens.
Wow this is such a Norfolk thing to happen.
Are they looking for a 12 year old elf kid who was attacking one of theirs?
Not the first time this has happened either. It’s clucking madness.

It is one of East Anglia’s most well-known tales - the life and times of Ditchingham’s “chicken roundabout”.
It’s difficult not to hear this in Alan Partridge’s voice. Ah ha!
No luck catching them chickens then?
or, if you prefer,
Those chickens are up to summit
I’d say this is what .22lr and 410 shotguns were invented for, but this is the UK so I guess they’ll have to stab them.
Or, or, probably something like animal control exists in the UK.
Watch out! If you attack the chicken to much, flocks of them will fly out from everywhere to attack you!
Would you rather fight one chicken-sized chicken or one hundred chicken-sized chickens?
You are on fire in the comments here
Depends how hungry I am
Might want to double check your ask there. I mean I’d take a single chicken-sized chicken.
Hash tag that was the joke dot jay peg please like and subscrtibe!
It’s a trap!
People catch wild fowl in the Kalahari using traps out of sticks and stuff. It’s not an insurmountable problem even in countries where gun legislation is not written by gun manufacturers.
Sadly, chicken defense technology has been lost to the ages
You managed to name the two most common types of gun in the UK you fuckin moron 😂
We just don’t have Coward’s Guns ©®™ like handguns and tiny-penis-men’s assault rifles
