Remarkable footage from the beaches of Normandy. Plus, folk horror creepiness and Scooby Doo stylings in Doctor Who. Here’s what to watch this evening
8.20pm, Channel 46 June 2024 marks 80 years since D-day, when 156,000 allied soldiers landed on the beaches of Normandy and embarked on a campaign that would herald the beginning of the end of the second world war in Europe. This documentary pays tribute to them with a focus on the photographers and film-makers who captured remarkable footage of the heroic efforts during the fateful summer days that followed.
