I gotta say, not a huge fan of OpenWeatherMap. It’s great that it’s Open Source, and all…but for me and the area I live in, it’s just dead wrong like 98% of the time.
OpenWeatherMap is nonFree but the data is free --> https://openweathermap.org/faq
The thing is weird because of the way it is published in their FAQ because of the section telling “our product and services”, but they refer to be as-is in the way it is exposed (maybe understood as client-side). There is not server-side free hosted in any repository or provided by them.
This is the reason why only the data is the really free thing.
BTW, the data failures are because of weather stations around your zone providing information.
Where I live, the weather station is in the most near zone to the coast in the municipality. Today we got 30-32 ºC and OpenWeatherMap was showing just 26. In that zone in the coast, there was that temperature but not here.
The thing is weird when there is microclimate involved or the source of the information depends only of what is showed in the satellites.
