Her sudden ascendancy was caused by the following: being one of if not THE most obnoxiously vehement denier of reality at Trump’s first impeachment hearings backing Trump’s coup attempts claiming that Pelosi was responsible for Jan 6 Her predecessor Liz Cheney being kicked out for not being a Trump sycophant. So yeah, this nonsense is 100% consistent with the kind of counterfactual demagoguery that’s made her career.
Not that it would be surprising coming from any Republican, but it’s ESPECIALLY not surprising coming from Stefanik of all people.
