The more A’s a company uses to label their videogames, the more it won’t see money from me.
Good on this studio for making blantant fun or the mess that is AAAAA games
AAA studios: “What do you mean our game sucks?? We used cinema quality assets and paid our artists 50k a year to make it all! It’s gorgeous! Don’t you guys have eyes?”
Meanwhile in indie land: …
We used cinema quality assets and paid our artists 50k a year to make it all!
*Correction, we used AI ripping off cinema quality assets from artists who formerly had stable respectable careers working for us (that helped define the culture of our company) but we have solved that problem!
We will sure miss those human artists, but in the pursuit of bigger and better we had to fire them all.
We will probably just blame consumers for pirating too much or something when this plans massively fails. It’ll be ok though since the investors in our company know that though this transition to AI will be difficult and there is a high chance it won’t work and will fail catastrophically, that in the end the value of programmers and artists in video game development will have been permanently devalued and that’s what matters. A rising tide lifts all share holders :)
