This has to do because I am deafblind myself as well as I placing particular interests into making the game more accessible, interactive and immersive. Where possible as a game server admin that is.
Examples of these includes things like heavily doped mobs’ spawn (chances boosted to 5 times over), ski mod, ambience mod with additionally ocessinal background music played, Signs’ Lib of using all signs on “Wide Formatting” for readability. As well as the server being based on the “5.4.1” which did shipped with Formspecs (User Interfaces) improvements, even to scale.
Finally no matter what’s gets added, it’s the policies and operations that matters at the end of the day. Instead of rules, I employ good practices (active involvements, in game protection blocks, backups, logging, etc). To limit the need for moderating without getting into “your faces” upon join or whatever. People want to have fun, not stare at the rules (they aren’t gonna read anyways) just to get the “interact” privilege. Plus you actually gotta “try” to get yourself ban from this place anyways. A broken dirt block, a curse word, etc isn’t gonna gets you ban if even a warning. :)
I also of course considers accessibities when running, servicing and so on of the server (adding mods, figuring out which website theme to use, etc).
Oh, cool! How’s Lemmy for ya? I hope you’re creating Issues so the site gets more accessible to you and others :)
Aww thanks you very much, glad you think this is cool of me. :)
I actually sorta likes it, I haven’t been here long enough to understand the people around here and like if they will be interested of me, this and so on. But I am enjoying it while I giving this a whirl to see where it’ll gets me. :)
If I do have problems I will surely look to seeing getting it out there to see where that goes!
Thanks! However I did checked this out and it seems to be popular desktops that I am not aware about. I am on Linux Mint and using cinnamon. It’s works quite well except the fact I need to reboot the DE every time I am switching to this very game to full screen it. Instead of magnification done with the Accessibly Tools.
That sounds very nice of you. I’m pretty happy even though I don’t play Minecraft/Minetest myself currently ;)
Awww thank you very much! Means a lot to me! Though if you like you can still be involved outside of the game if you would like to support me further. If there are things like you might be interested of, tossing some funding down the line and/or something.
Maybe you want to include “Minetest” in the title so interested parties are clickbaited :)
Done and done, I didn’t think to do this so thank for helping me with this! :)
On a side note, do you rather have UTF Emoji like 😀 or text emoji like :) ?
UTF, thanks for asking of me. :)
Thanks very much Helix for everything you did for me. :)
What’s this about? What does “deafblind” mean in this context? Is it for deaf and blind people?
