    More like they want something to go after you for if they can’t technically prove anything else woth enough evidence to put you away

      Nope and nope. Not how that works or went down. The government wasn’t setup this way so that someone, somewhere, could maybe go after the people committing more than 1 crime at a time.

      The irs literally takes your word for everything and on source of income, you don’t have to put exactly which laws you are breaking, you could use made up titles or euphemisms for job titles.

        There are many cases of people reporting income to the IRS and effectively pleading the fifth when asked where it came from. There’s plenty of precedent for this.
