My take was that the guy with the new tattoo was feeling really good by the coworker’s reaction. Then seeing how he reacted the same way towards donuts made him feel self conscious about his tattoo.
This one makes the most sense to me. Especially since the donuts look very distinctly like they have holes in them, which would make it impossible for them to have jam inside.
For some people, eating a donut is the worst evil they could commit. Eat it because it’s delicious but then you feel like shit and you look like shit for days afterwards. Can’t think clearly, I need to lay in bed for days, your whole world implodes over a donut. Yes. I am one of those people. So this comic makes sense to me.
