The caption for this one changes every time it’s posted. The version I saw was that he merely spent too long playing games and refused to leave. Chinese parents are, well, like that.

Agreed, but at the same time, the parents would have to be ridiculously stupid to link the kids account to their life savings. It’s a whole household of dipshits

I mean, he doesn’t have to have direct access. I remember in middle school, you used to have to type in a credit card to recover your Xbox live account. I had my mom’s credit card # memorized so I could play at friends houses on my own account. That’s way less damage than life savings, but I still could have made a financial dent, and she had no idea I had memorized it. Him spending money doesn’t mean he had access; it’s hard to see, but he doesn’t look young. I’m guessing he accessed account he shouldn’t have without parents being aware. You wouldn’t normally assume your older kids are going to clean you out either.

That’s a terrible thing to do, but how did he get access to their whole life savings?

this is the real issue. if your child has access to your entire life savings, you’ve already messed up big time. children and even teens just do not have the capacity to realize the weight of their decisions, and should never be given access to anything more than their own account for allowance or starter-job money. the parents deserve way more blame here than the kid.
