@kde Classic Task Manager: auto-hiding pins when app is running.

Is there a way in Classic TaskManager to not display the pins when the corresponding app is running?

Currently if I, e.g., pin Firefox and then click on it to run it, Firefox will appear twice. Once icon-only on the left among all the other pins, then again in the middle among all the windows listed.

Contrast this with Icon-Only Task Manager, where Firefox will only appear exactly once either a pin or window.

There is a checkbox with a very confusing name in the task manager applet’s settings that does just that. I can’t remember its name just now (something about separated launchers. It’s “Combine into single button”. Nope, it’s “Keep launchers separate” and it’s indeed needs restart).

@deadcream Thank you, that was it: “Keep launchers separate” checkbox in “Behaviour”.

Note: That option is normally (depending on “Sort” order) grayed out and cannot be changed.

      So:
      - Switch “Sort” to “Manual” (this un-grays the checkbox)
      - Un-check “Keep launchers separate” checkbox.
      - Switch back to your favourite “Sort” - e.g. “By desktop” (this re-grays the checkbox, but now it’s un-checked).

This would be nice (I also haven’t found a way to do what you’d like). More than once I’ve accidentally opened up a new instance of a pinned app because of this. It’s a super minor annoyance, but still something I’d like to be able to change.
