I decided to make a script that would hide everyone’s reputation so you can navigate Kbin unbiased.
This removes it from their profile and the profile popups upon hovering usernames. Sitewide removal.
After some discussions about rep-farming and about the usefulness (or lack thereof?) and potentially harmful nature of something such as reputation/karma/whatever, I had this idea and wrote up this script.
Hope some people like it! Lmk if there are any bugs, which probably lol
it has 2 purposes. 1. I wanted to practice JS 2. the majority of people who use social media often are susceptible to and even addicted to things like karma, likes, upvotes, reputation points, what have you, by design. this script removes the temptation to look. if you’re addicted to sweets, you don’t keep them in the cupboard.
but anyway, its optional obviously. so, if you don’t find it purposeful, then it doesn’t affect you anyway. if you have no issues not looking and you think this is useless, then good on you, but not everyone is you.
