Does it also detect when an extension developer makes a deal with the robot devil, or only when an ambidextrous developer swaps between their right-handed and left-handed mice?

It checks the information provided on the Chrome Web Store directly, so once the Google account of the owner changes it will detect it.

It checks the information provided on the Chrome Web Store directly, so it applies to this extension too (unless you build it from source). And the extension is open source, so you can check that there is no exception built it.

Can it also detect when you’re using Chrome and help you switch to Firefox?

I don’t think every discussion about a chrome-based browser needs to focus on the idea that people can use firefox instead of chrome. This is a generally useful extension that addresses a serious security issue with the browsers that most of the world uses, and I think that’s great.

I don’t think firefox is at as great of a risk for plugins changing hands maliciously due to the lower marketshare, but I would still like to see a firefox version of this extension.
