I tried signing up to this instance using a disposable email address but the verification email never came through.

Do you have a rule against disposable email addresses?

Thanks

I did the same and thought it didn’t work until I checked the update folder in gmail. Try sorting your mail by “All Mail” and see if you see it there.

I mean a single use email like Guerilla Mail. Perhaps those domains were blacklisted.

(Sorry for the duplicate post by the way, lemmy.world is really slow and I can’t delete the duplicate)

I signed up using a SimpleLogin address, but that was a couple of weeks ago

IIRC the admin’smail relay service was getting rate limited, so he was sending verification emails manually. Although it wouldn’t surprise me if disposable emails were banned, almost removes the point of having email verification enabled.

I tried to sign up with a gmx email address - but the email never came through. I checked All Mail, Spam, etc. It’s definitely not there. Signed up again using a gmail.com one, and email came through immediately. Just waiting for that account to be verified by Tom and I’ll stop using this one…
