Their build your own sub thing is pretty neat (if insanely expensive) Honestly between them, Jimmy Johns, and Jersey Mikes, I think they win.

Reallllly? Jimmy John’s is super fast and their bread tastes delicious. Jersey Mike’s tastes amazing and fresh. Subway doesn’t taste fresh. It tastes like prepackaged deli meat, old veggies, and their bread is mediocre. So as far as sandwiches go, its s pretty lackluster affair.

I’d probably say: jersey Mike’s, Jimmy John’s, then waaaaaay down I’d put subway.

I have nothing to say about subway’s white bread, I only get their wheat bread, and the others not having spinach and olives is kinda a deal breaker for me. (Don’t take this for me being some kind of health nut, I just think this combo is tasty lol)

I only like Jimmy John’s because I can order a giant sandwich and they will bring it to me.

I also like Insomnia Cookies. They bring me a giant cookie and milk.

But yeah, I guess with all these delivery apps came more (better, local) options when I want something just for myself.

It’s also crazy expensive now though so I don’t eat anywhere ever, basically.

I like Subway’s selection or toppings & options the most. Spinach, guac, their “Southwest” dressing or whatever they call it, and you can get your subs toasted. Other places might have some of those things but not all. That being said, there are a couple local chains I prefer over Subway anyway.

To be honest, anyone taking a ‘snobbish’ approach to fast food sandwiches is probably a lost cause to begin with.

Subway wins because they have the best deals. Usually, there’s a code you can enter to get BOGO footlongs.

But you’re probably too proud to get ripped off to realize that.

Of the chain delis in the US, my vote is for Ike’s.

That said, the locally owned place that isn’t a franchise will almost always be a million times better than any of these chains.

I thought they stopped this build your own thing? I recall there was a backlash over it.

That would be silly. It’s like chipotle, everything is behind glass in the front and you tell em what you want while they make it.

                That article also says:

The new sandwiches became available Tuesday, though customers can still make substitutions or create their own sandwiches.

If you walked into a store and ordered the classic black forest ham, by default it basically comes plain and you’re expected to pick out your own preferred toppings. But if you go in and order the new grand slam ham instead, it by default comes with a reasonable set of default toppings. You’re still allowed to customize but now a lot of people won’t need to.

And all this is moot for online ordering since the website does include default toppings for the classic sandwiches.

Hey, lots of people have a favorite subway sandwich. It’s whatever one is regularly least disappointing! Sometimes it’s the only option for lunch :')

I’m only snarking them because they chose to live in America (bad mistake) and they said they’re in LA (they have options). They’re not a victim of circumstance, they’re a garbage seeking intercontinental shithead.

You think nobody thought of that, Jared? Why didn’t they find fish DNA in the tuna sandwiches? They can’t even legally call their bread “bread” in places with normal food laws.

It’s bad food, but as each new historical crime against humanity teaches us, you truly can get used to anything.

Subway sandwiches are pretty damn disappointing. People commonly say that for a real reason.

I say this as someone who used to work in a part of town that had two walkable options for lunch. 1) the office refrigerator, or 2) subway. I ate a lot of subway when I was too lazy to brown bag it. Having sampled that entire shitty menu, I can confidently say that place makes the saddest sandwich in town.
