You know what fucks me up? The fact that several different #Fediverse platforms can seemingly talk to each other seamlessly, even the ones that seemingly were not even meant to talk to each other. Stuff on #mastodon is visible here on #kbin. My account from a #Lemmy instance can see my other account on #CalcKey. There’s several different “not-Twitter” services each with their own interfaces and instances, and they all chat with each other. I can feel my brain expanding as I learn all of this.
Its effort to make fediverse platform eventually be as one big federated community. None of the servive are born with this compatibility in mind, but the effort was done to do so and I am very happy they did.
