You realize there’s a Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and it’s not in communion with the Russian Orthodox Church, right?

Most other patriarchates try ro remain politically neutral, but they mostly seem to favor Ukraine because they’re not genocidal fascists…

So you might want to revise your last statement. It’s really just the Russian Orthodox Church that applies to.

Far too seriously? You’re literally conflating Ukrainians and their culture with Russians and theirs. I’ll never not take that seriously.

I’m doing no such thing. You have misunderstood me; I am not denying the differences in culture or worship between the two.

The extent of my knowledge of Orthodox Christianity is Byzantine empire involvement in the schism and Batushka’s usage of their liturgical chanting within the context of a black metal album sounds cool as fuck.

I am glad to hear the modern iteration of the relevant sect is largely supporting Ukraine. i support Ukraine as well.

I am simply facetiously taking a religion as seriously as religions traditionally take themselves.

You were insinuating that the “Eastern Orthodox Church” (which includes the Ukrainian Orthodox Church) would ban someone for acknowledging the Holodomor. That’s pretty ignorant.

Had you said the “Russian Orthodox Church”, you’d have been accurate, because they support Putin’s fascist imperialist aggression.

But the Ukrainian and Russian churches have mutually excommunicated each other.
