I’m talking about the guy dunking on all of Europe because the UK being idiots as usual, shifting the conversation from genocide vs anti-genocide to campist bullshit.
And yeah, a lot of the EU is led by genocidal shitlibs as well, but still. Lot of good people fighting the good fight in the EU and we went from being jackasses to at least torn on the issue. You can protest the genocide in front of the Hague and achieve results, which is kind of the best the world has at the moment.
Can you name me a single European country that imposed state level sanctions on Israel ? That cut all military trade with Israel? That condemned Israel attacking nuclear facilities in Iran which is a war crime with serious repercussions on people and the environment?
I am not saying most countries are as bad as the UK but it’s a fact that no country implementing all the leverage they can to fight genocide.
The protests has zero impact on governments the goal of the protest is to rise awareness so people can do real acts helping Palestinians like doing BDS themselves
Ireland is doing BDS, banning imports produced in settlements. Slovenia imposed entry bans against key Israeli politicians complicit in the genocide. Spain and Sweden support the good side in stopping EU-Israel trade. I know it’s not enough, but people are working on getting the rest on board. Not everyone is the CDU in Germany.
The thing about the EU is that regarding to external trade, it’s a singular unit. A state could impose sanctions, but since trade is free inside the bloc, importers could just import stuff 100 km away and freely transport it wherever. You have to have at least the majority agree, but then when that happens, the effect is dramatic.
And again, I know it’s not enough, but it’s not a lost cause either, and at least something is happening, and people can do at least something, unlike in places like the US, Russia or China.
It is harder to do it here as opposed to places where people understand colonialism beyond the sanitised history books they never read as kids.

I knew you would mention sanctions on settlements. That’s why i said state level. You know that the settlements are financed by Israel governments right? They also arms them, the Israeli army protect them, not a special army controlled by settlers. It’s also not the settlers who are destroying Gaza right now
Spain and Sweden support the good side in stopping EU-Israel trade.
Again, both those countries sanctions are on settlements not Israel proper. Both of those countries are still buying the weapons from Israel that was tested on Gazans , the revenues generally get reinvested on military itself rather than improving citizens life
Time is ticking out , Israel want a final solution right now. Will there be a Palestine in 10 years ? The situation is really dire. Still i agree with you about efforts need to continue . I lost faith in governments but not people efforts doing bds
