It’s directing you to the kodi.log if that file is empty you have an issue outside of Kodi. It’s usually quite verbose, maybe it can’t write to the directory

Btw not sure if you know this but you can add stubs to your library pointing to discs. When you try to play one of these stubs it’ll direct you to insert the associated disc.
