The giant swastika is a bit of a giveaway
One would think there are “dead giveaways”.
But apparently pulling a Nazi salute on stage at a presidential inauguration doesn’t seem to be one. Can anyone explain why?

where one longs to be released from the responsibility of thinking
Yeah I’ve seen those somewhere and always thought they’d be horrible to use. They remind me of what these used to somewhat be like, when they were made of hard plastic and the flow wasn’t as smooth as with that sort of rubbery end. Like a hard plastic one would be good at first but after years it’d strart shooting beams all willy nilly.
These are great and genuinely in like 95% of Finnish toilets. Even public toilets usually have one stall with a small sink just so it has one of these.
I wasn’t going to criticize your fingers
Are you sure?
Idk man I’ve had massive bowel issues since forever and that’s sort of why I’ve come to love it. See it’s not a full blast. There’s nothing tearing at my arse.
First I need to turn on my tap, and the pressure I open the tap with is how much pressure the bidet shower gets. Then the bidet shower also has a trigger, so you’re not even blasting the full pressure of tap. You could put the tap on a drip and then only slightly press the trigger on the bidet shower head. Ofc that would result in nothing, but if you open the tap about half and then spray your arse with about half that, it’s like the gentlest stream that you can still nicely direct and isn’t going everywhere
Ill go an take a photo after posting this then edit it on my phone to add the photo
Edit, see, very gentle stream
off
Push trigger halfway gentle.
Put if I were to put some more pressure on, you can see the difference
also pls don’t criticise the cleanliness of my sink I just washed my bong
Well this was like at most 2-4 years earlier than that, so around the same time.
I’m not even American. I’m Finnish. I don’t think you’d understand how prevalent racism here is. Like even the stereotypical hippie girls, you know? Like it’s a sort of somewhat casual racism, but it’s very deep in the society.
My therapist who’s British originally told me how he was in a sauna one day and the discussion turned to something political and that the people just threw out the n-word so casually. And this was like just this year, uh, last year I mean.
Yeah the “sand n” word is used her as well, pfff.
Like genuinely I’ve gotten into a lot of trouble for calling people out for those things. Which is like… honestly. I get looked down on for saying that we shouldn’t use racial slurs? Like genuinely, you’ll get more disgusted looks in Finland by saying “you shouldn’t use the n-word” then you would by saying the n-word. Perhaps it’s different in the capital area and the younger gens? I fucking hope it is.
Bro.
When I was about that age, in Finland, and we were in the Mayday fair, my dad bought me a literal black face, as in a rubber mask that covered your face and was EXTREMELY racist, with like the worst 19th century racist drawing of a generic sub-Saharan African you could think of. The whole 9 yards. No. 900 yards.
I found the mask like a few years ago while we were cleaning out grandmas house and man, the shame I felt. shudder
I think it’s fine to dress up as characters of other ethnicities. But just don’t do blackface. If no-one “gets” your costume because you didn’t do blackface, then it’s a shit costume, but at least you weren’t being racist. If people get it and you aren’t wearing black-face, what’s the problem?
People say “lol”, but they don’t mean it.
People say “lol” and they often mean “I forcefully exhaled a little bit.”
When I saw this meme, I literally did a vocal “aah-ah-ha-ha-haa”.
I’m going to identify as more of a problem than I already do if they come for anyone trans. I already live in a country where trans people are pretty rare though but I’ll just protect the ideal if there’s no actual trans people to protect. (Aside from myself and I’m really not comfortable taking that identity for myself with the amount sexual fluidity that I have though I do recognize having some.)
Like 90% the “jokes” I heard growing up I couldn’t translate without getting banned for racism.
Like automodded, racism. Basically the “punchline” was often the n-word.
But see we already got the base unit of a second for time. But for generations, perhaps?
One kilomother would’ve been the early modern human, roughly. Ten kilomothers ago homo sapiens was just coming into being. A hundred kilomothers ago homo erectus would’ve just been coming into existence. A megamother ago we would’ve been diverging into great apes.
You can probably propose a new SI-base unit of “a mother”, but what does it measure?
“Metric” just essentially comes from “metering”. People confuse “metric” with “decimal”, which is sort of the point of the person I replied to. While metric time technically exists insofar as you just use seconds as the base unit, omit minutes and hours and just do SI-prefixes, the French did also try decimal time, but it was just horrible.
So if “mother” was the base unit and it measured something, in this instance time, the advent of agriculture was roughly four hectomothers ago. Or 0.4 kilomothers, if you will.
I was just on a website that gave a warning when trying to accept only necessary.
So I’m sure some less informed people just conform instead of thinking or even maybe reading the warning.
These cookie things are the epitome of asshole design. Hidden “legitimate interest” weird colours for on/off, I can’t even be arsed to list it all.
Impotent as in “unable”, like how you are unable to stand behind your own words? How you’re unable to accept that using “hero” isn’t gendered language in modern English?
edit ruahahhaha now you’re doing it again? Blocking and unblocking because you want to delude yourself you haven’t taken a massive L? Who do you think would look at this thread and believe you forgot the thing I’ve pasted in pretty much every single reply? :D
I guess that does look rather bad in retrospect’
But they don’t. The psyche requires them to absolutely not accept that. I don’t think you understand how far a human mind will go with coping when it’s required.
So just having to believe that it’s a justified sacrifice means you do believe it so it doesn’t matter if it the death was unjust as it served a higher purpose. So theyre doing their job. Getting the job done matter, not what it looks like. That was the whole point of my comment. Optics aren’t a thing in the military. That’s what was so freeing about it.
Oh?
“450 mothers ago” is roughly 363,500 megaseconds ago.
To be fair, measuring that in moms seems more intuitive.
I’ve a vague recollection of scribbling those letters on a CD with a marker.
It’s not an oopsie.
This meme assumes sympathy from military leaders. They don’t. They can’t. It would overwhelm any man who leads more than a company of soldiers.
So they’re not people, they’re soldiers. And even you male do with what you got, that’s one thing you learn in the military. You get told to do a thing and you do it, no matter what you got to do to achieve it.
Honestly that spirit is pretty fun most times. Like say my peacetime conscription in Finland. I was an NCO, so I had a pleasant levels of power imo, without too much responsibility. We’re the ones who “actually get shit done.” So when the officers want something achieved, and you find a way to achieve it which had to bend the rules a little or use some other improvise solution, it’s often actually looked pretty positively on. Well, depending on the solution ofc, but if it works and didn’t break anything or massively waste anyone’s time, it’s usually fine.
And generally, that’s the mentality when you’re being given orders, even when you explicitly explain how you think achieving said orders is impossible. It’s only rarely that it’s the officers who will bend due to reality. Well, at least on the executive level, because the officers have discussed something and deemed it possible, so then it’s for the NCO’s to make that be the new reality. Which is challenging, but can be fun.
But then you can sometimes steee them by telling them the options of reality. I had one come tell me the majors and colonels will have their food now. I told him “well, I can bring them the potato soup now, or I can bring them cooked potato soup in 20 minutes.”
They waited 20 minutes.
My point being that empathy is just understanding the feelings of others. It doesn’t mean you care about them. Sympathy on the other hand is feeling the same thing as the other person, viscerally. Not just understanding, but sympathising, as in “co-feeling” it, instead of “logically understanding” it. And you wouldn’t want to feel bad things yourself.
Anyway military leaders can have empathy, just not sympathy, as feeling so much sympathy would disable a person.
Tldr empathy doesn’t necessitate sympathy
It’s funny you think you’re “hiding” this by the generic responses.
Anyone visiting your profile will see your toddler tantrum. We call it itkupotkuraivari in Finnish. “kick-scream-rage-seizure”
And youre having one because you said something that isn’t true, something you were wrong about :(
But your ego can’t handle it :(((
edit aaand he blocked me, like I said. So here’s a reply to the comment below, because I know you’re gonna come back to unblock me to pretend you never even did. Like I said, I’ve seen your tantrum a thousand times. :D::
Impotent as in “unable”, like how you are unable to stand behind your own words? How you’re unable to accept that using “hero” isn’t gendered language in modern English?
“Just look at us. Everything is backwards, everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, psychiatrists destroy minds, scientists destroy truth, major media destroys information, religions destroy spirituality and governments destroy freedom.”
― Michael Ellner
I have genuinely written that on the wall of an isolation cell in my own blood. I was denied my prescription medication.
