Though the Mass Effect series is full of interesting characters, it’s widely accepted that Tali is the best of Shepard’s companions. She is also the best romance option hands down. I have played Mass Effect several times and I always romance her. Regardless of whether I’m renegade or paragon. I even installed a mod to romance her as femshep during one of my runs. I’ll fight anybody on this.
Could we not start this group/magazine off by pitting people against each other dependent on who their favourite companion is?
Let people like their own favourites, it doesn’t have to be a competition…
Frame it as “Tali’s my favourite, this is why”, and I’ll support you all the way, regardless of who my own favourite may be. But stating that it’s “widely accepted that Tali is the best”? No, sorry, it’s not. Everyone has their own favourite romances/squadmates.
(And for the record, I like Tali, she’s one of my favourites too. This isn’t an anti-Tali post. It’s a ‘please be welcoming, not antagonistic’ post.)
Agreed. Phrasing it as you suggested also invites further conversation.
Just a light hearted post. I think waifu wars are inevitable in mass effect communities, I’m just trying to mark the fire hydrant first.
My biggest issue with mass effect was always that I couldn’t have Tali, Garus, and Mordin in my party at the same time.
Tali is definitely in my top 3 favorite companions!
Just make sure to keep both Tali and Mordin with you on the final fight in ME2 or they have a tendency to get clapped. Mordin’s dialogue in ME2 made him the instant fan favorite for sure. There is a romance mod for Mordin…
My first run through I sent Tali in the vents and she was fine. But I’ve heard of people having similar issues with her Squishiness.
Both Tali and Legion should be able to make it through provided that they are loyal, as far as I’m aware.
Yeah, Tali and Legion are the best choices for the vents, but towards the final fight she and Mordin are high in the priority list to die if left to hold the line and you don’t have a strong enough defence. I made that mistake on my first playthrough of ME2, taking Garrus and Tali to the final fight (taking one of the strongest defending characters from the defence), thus Mordin died at the end. That involved a reload and a replay of that mission so I could have him in ME3 lol
