Use MultiMC or Prism Launcher to connect - ensure you’re using Beta 1.7.3, not the release version. (Toggle the “betas” filter and select “b1.7.3” when creating your instance)

It’s a fork of CraftBukkit, plugins from the era are still compatible - if there’s any ya’ll would want.
There are a few plugins I would like such as being able to check online players but I cant find any old pugins sadly.

I sent an application last night as notherealfluffy and I’m not whitelisted yet (albeit it hasn’t been 24 hours). I’m a bit afraid that if it’s being manually added to the list then whoever is doing that might attempt to fix what appears to be a typo but isn’t.
The server is not listing for me when I put in the address.
I think me and Rick figured out what happened. Make sure you’ve selected b1.7.3 in Prism/MultiMC when creating your instance… This requires toggling the “betas” filter.
After testing, I get the exact same error messages you did when attempting to connect from r1.7.3, which you most likely selected in MultiMC accidentally when creating your instance.
(The original connection issues you had with the official launcher were just because it does NOT play well with old versions of Minecraft.)
Connecting won’t work on the regular MC launcher, not sure what’s wrong if it still doesn’t work with MultiMC though…
There is a little bit of data I can look through, and we could also do testing later with the vanilla server to make sure it’s not a problem caused by Poseidon’s modifications.

What error are you getting? Me and Rick were just playing earlier, make sure you’re using 1.7.3 and put in the full address - “oldschoolmc.live:25566”

Do you live in an area where your ISP would block VPNs or Tor exit nodes?
I suppose I hadn’t considered that. I’m not sure as it has never been an issue. Let me try using a VPN myself.
I’m asking because the IP this Minecraft server uses used to belong to a Tor exit (operated by me a while back). It retains permanent bans in a few countries after that.
Also, please try pinging oldschoolmc.live and visiting it in your browser (should display a landing page)
I’m able to reach the landing page. I have read the rules over there and I also copy pasted the address from that site just to make sure everything was correct.
I wouldn’t be surprised if my ISP was pulling some strings though.
I live in Florida and I have Spectrum as my internet provider.
As Rick suggested, try using Prism Launcher or MultiMC
Also, just to confirm, you are using exactly version beta 1.7.3 - right?
Shouldn’t have any issues in Florida… Restarted the server, try joining again. You’re using the vanilla client, right?
