So the Bears get essentially nothing for him after using the 32nd pick in the last draft to get him. All time blunder.
Also, it’s crazy how much Claypool has wasted his potential and the chances he’s been given.
Hardly an all time blunder for the Bears, only if you have only been paying attention for the past week maybe. I can’t even say the name Cedric benson without spitting on the ground, and I already forgot claypool played on the Bears
hey! i watched him in HS as he absolutely ran over everything on the field!
honestly i don’t know why he did so poorly on the NFL - did he have drug/legal problems, or was he just a flop?
I’m sure pretty much every NFL player dominates high school. It’s hard to tell how good they’ll actually be in the NFL until they get there. Even trying to judge from college ball can be kind of a crapshoot
I think this is worse than missed draft picks (especially guys that by all rights should’ve been at least decent) because they already knew exactly what kind of player he was and still traded what they knew would be a high second for him. People were calling it a bad trade immediately and it only got worse from there.
In fairness to the Bears, by all reports the Packers were offering the same thing last year. At the time, there was even some question over which team’s pick would be better.
Ok the other hand, that kind of makes it worse because they prevented their division rival from making a bad trade.
