Her family Weekend-at-Bernie’d her 'till the end.
Holy resurrected thread, Batman!
Yea my bad. I realized I was accidentally scrolling through your posts rather than my main Lemmy page after replying to another thread. Must’ve fat-fingered on my phone. Felt that my comment was valid, even if the thread is old (like Feinstein was).
I actually met her once back in the 90s (bojack title song begins) on vacation in DC. She let me and my family into the Senate as observers when we mentioned we were from the Bay Area, which was kinda cool.
But that was two and a half decades ago. Since then she had gone very senile, and it became evident in recent years that the only thing that’d make her relinquish her position was death. So here we are.
So: thanks for letting me sit in on the federal legislative process that one time, but holy fuck lady you should have retired a long goddamn time ago.
Great. Now we just need the rest of The Silent Generation that’s silently strangling this country to die off, too. Let the young have literally anything, you greedy fucks.
This fantasy that older generations will die off and we will suddenly be free of their evil is so perplexing to me. Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z will be (and already are) every bit as toxic and destructive as previous generations, largely because we were raised by them.
And judging an entire generation by its worst actors while wishing for its extinction is puerile and nonproductive.
Either fund the entire generation with universal healthcare that actually covers everything or get them out. The special treatment in congress should not be tolerable, period, sympathy or no.
