Microsoft is planning to launch a mobile app store that will compete against the App Store and Play Store.

    Depends on when and how Apple has to follow EU regulations, but at least until then it won’t compete with the App Store because it simply can’t.

      They will. If Apple doesn’t comply with EU Digital Markets Act (DMA) they will have to pay fines of up to 10% of a company’s global turnover for infringements. Let them try not to comply lol. Their deadline is on May 2024.

    If it does, it better perform better than the current Windows Store. I don’t mind a Windows Store, I mind how bad it is.

    It reads to me they want their own store so they don’t need to pay the other stores fees or give them a cut of potential sales. I wonder how many other big tech groups are considering the same.
