Trump says he can’t guarantee that shooting yourself in the foot won’t hurt
But he says he can guarantee that it won’t not raise prices.
I mean… yeah. I’m not in the USA and I will probably also feel the effects of whatever tariffs are placed. It seems like he’s already preparing excuses for when things don’t pan out. (Not to mention the immigration issue and so on)
I’m sure he is.
Every president in recent memory has lost control of Congress here in the US at the midterms, and it’s because of nonsense like this. Trump’s next term will be no different. No president since LBJ has made a good-faith effort to actually do what they promise, so one has to have plausible deniability to try and survive in Washington.
… at the midterms …
We get to have midterms?
Yes, there will be midterms.
Donald’s supporters will be very disappointed. He’ll have to apologize for that, too.
They definitely will be.
In 2028 we’ll see 20,000,000 voters who just decide not to vote instead of 10,000,000, and it’s because no matter who we elect the poor and working class have to struggle, so why miss a day of work to vote?
And I can’t guarantee that if I swing my arms around and walk towards you, you won’t get hit.
I’m sure going through his enemies list and raising taxes on virtually every single item most Americans purchase is going to improve the prices of eggs, I guess?
Gonna keep that Samuel L. Jackson clip ready for all the FAFO idiots that voted for this shit: “Yes you did! YES. YOU. DID!”
You and the 70 million other Democratic voters who have no understanding of why the party keeps losing voters, naturally.
You could at least explain why.
Don’t leave us hanging.I think there are two major reasons why Dems have gotten significantly less popular, but in this thread, I’m referring to the knee-jerk reaction I’ve seen out of many to react with smugness.
Democrats make a habit of being assholes to people, usually over stupid things, like someone using the term “homeless” instead of “unhoused”. That’s the sort of thing many people couldn’t care less about when they’ve spent the last four years getting poorer or seeing their spending power vastly diminished.
The people whose votes you need do not like you, and they don’t feel like you like them.
