Act III of Arcane’s second (and final) season 2 contains some spectacular action and one of the best episodes in the entire series. But it’s also an underwhelming ending that rushes its story.

The finale felt like we got Game Of Throned, rushed for no apparent reason, ignoring character arcs and storylines, and I was shocked at how they shoehorned a “faceless army” into the Big Bad fight like an MCU movie. Why did Arcane only have to be only two seasons? I mean, was it not successful enough? It’s one of the most celebrated animated productions of all time, everyone loved it, why wasn’t THIS given more seasons, when so many other lesser shows drag on forever? Why did this happen. Did the studio not make enough money selling this to Netflix, did they get bored, did Netflix want to “move on” from the most successful video game adaption of all time? I don’t get it. Son I am disappoint.

While I do agree that the finale was rushed, I don’t think that adding more seasons would fix it. The second season clearly suffered from some pacing issues, like the first three episodes feeling too slow and a bit like filler, and the last two going way too fast. I think they had enough time to wrap the story and character arcs up, but didn’t use it well enough. But a story has got to end at some point. There’s a reason that shows that keep getting more and more seasons are not as good. It’s best to end it on a high note and let the amazing artists behind it move on to something new. It’s a shame that the second season wasn’t more or less perfect like the first, but we still got some damn good episodes out of it. Can’t wait to see more stories from these creators.

netflix had no input on the show as riot entirely bankrolled it. this was certainly not a “game of thrones’d” situation, the quality didnt drop anywhere within compare for that.
