The sarcastic title character, shows a depiction of teen angst, family life, relationships, and other social issues still strike a remarkable chord with the modern world.
I remember watching the complete series of Daria about a year after I had finished school and my life was a bit directionless.
The show had a profound effect on me; a mixture of nostalgia, inevitable maturity and that things were probably going to be alright (I.e. the final episodes credit scene).
The soundtrack of Daria is also absolutely amazing for anyone who grew up in that time, so many brilliant songs and I highly recommend it.
I’m still upset that the DVD release of this show had to strip out all of the original songs because of copyright issues.
It’s honestly one the things that radicalised me against copyright law. I just want a work of art to be preserved without people worrying about profit.
There’s an unedited mix floating around as a torrent with the original music intact.
Yes, you’re right. I have had it for over a decade now and am holding on to it for dear life.
I have to find this torrent. Daria was legit.

This shit ruined WKRP in Cincinnati reruns, too.
Although not totally ruined because … Bailey.
I still say “Sorry, Babe” to my spouse and she responds with KEEVIIIEEEEEE
I often greet my wife with “Hey Mack Daddy!”
And she responds with “I told you not to call me that”.
I often say “the clunky shoes make you look cuter by comparison” and nobody has any idea what I’m talking about.
