I just want the price to come down on a decent comfortable not absolutely ugly AR display. I don’t want AI, I don’t want processing power, I just want to be able to display an app or two off my phone in my field of vision, without occluding the rest of what’s there. But even the nicest of the shittiest solutions are over $800.
I want to be able to see my irl health bar and bank balance at the bottom
Showing the bank balance would give me anxiety. I’d be afraid to make it go down. (Not in a healthy way)
a small map in the corner would be interesting to my lost ass.
Wait, you guys have bank balances?
Money = Mana, same root, probably
I agree. I want something that can replace (or enhance) my monitor. Thats it. Looks like it could be a quick win for companies that do it. Ive seen a couple but they all have very big downsides…like price (like you said).
Epson movario has been the closest thing for the longest time, it’s just too expensive for what I want it for.
Kind of worthless video. Just speculates about how it works. They don’t ever even show the app working!
These glasses aren’t even AR so the idea that they can overlay details as shown in the mockups is impossible.
They are AR, it is the Orion prototype.
Ah I see, though they don’t seem to be for sale so I don’t think this guy actually has access to them.
Yea he definitely doesn’t, they are prototypes and cost $10k to make and are only available as a private demo.
It’s not really an app. It’s a full on computer watching with a live feed of the glass stream, just a proof of concept
I doubt they bothered with the ui element of it, as in overlaying info on the glasses
Right… I mean the idea is obvious so why even bother with any of it? The only interesting reason is to demo that it actually works in reality which clearly they didn’t.
Obvious to us I guess but not the general population clearly
Wake me when they let me have a perfect videogame HUD
For real. I find it hella crazy that all these companies want to push for AR but none of them have actually made AR huds that would be as useful as what most video games have.
I want a visual representation of my health and stamina on screen. Maybe I would go to a doctor more often if I saw my HP was constantly at 25%.
Those glasses look ugly as fuck
