Refer to animals as:
Sentient beings, farm animals, he/him, she/her, they/them, fishes, sheeps, cows, chickens, turkeys, ducks, camels, individuals.
Replace idioms that normalize violence towards animals with better ones like “feed two birds with one scone”
@Well please don’t be ableistic & add alt-text for the visual impaired
I’m not sure how alt-text functions, may I ask how it works?
I suppose I should add a description.
@Well yes, it’s the picture description.
I like this one, I will do next time I read a wikipedia article including animals, probably each time I see it from now on, I don’t read wikipedia as much as I used to but its a cool rebellious idea, I can just imagine the debates with wikipedia moderators after it sparks an edit war
We the people can always change the language to more accurately reflect reality, I’m also considering emailing the major dictionary publications to include vegan terms in their prints.
Sounds good, let me know if theres something I can do to support, and if you want to talk further I’m on simplex
Sadly wikipedia is mostly controlled by white supremacists who have a vested interest in being against such things:
