I don’t like pairing it to an app but the fact it’s described as barebones means it’s focusing specifically on the function which is a bit of a relief.

How much more useful is it than a mirror?

So I’m riding in a bike lane and have one of these. It goes off. What exactly am I going to do about it? I can’t ride through parked cars, or thump up on the sidewalk each time. Slowing down or stopping means they hit me sooner. I probably shouldn’t swerve into traffic.

Maybe I could speed up, but if this alarm is going off, a much faster car is coming at me from behind.

I suppose I could put my affairs in order and find religion. Thanks modern technology!

Being aware of a car coming up behind you seems like it might be better than not being aware of a car coming up behind you, no?

Ha, yeah. Reminds me of the “acoustic monitoring” system on the Titan sub, by the time you see/hear the warning you can’t do much about it.
