on mobile the bird in the first panel is incredibly difficult to see and looks like a storm cloud. thus it looks like the kid is just upset for no reason.
I just saw a gray blob, was wondering if he got hit by a rock or something. Then I thought dad meant crying is good luck, so the kid was trying to cry? Was very confused for a minute until I zoomed in to inspect the “rock.”

I am on mobile and saw the bird. But maybe you didnt pay attention and gave less effort because of a smaller phone. Or you just genereally wasnt aware of it. Happens and its normal I assume

I’m also on mobile and even if you didn’t see the bird it is a common thing to say it’s good luck to get shit on by a bird.
