Last night’s Smackdown should be the last regular weekly usage of the tech, and some layoffs of related personnel is to be expected.

    On the one hand, thank whatever god might be above, on the other hand, I hate this is part of layoffs and a loss of the stage.

    I’m more upset about the loss of the tron. I think the titantron stage is one of the key features that made WWF stand out from WCW and helped those of us who could only afford nosebleed tickets, we could be in the arena feeling the magic and be able to see the screen so we didn’t have to watch two ants on a sand hill fight.

    Solidarity with the workers losing their jobs.

    But I’m glad WWE are doing away with it, it always looked really tacky imo.

    They won’t be missed. There were only a few that really added to a wrestlers entrance. The rest just looked forced and didn’t really work well. The best one I remember was when Apollo Crews came out and had those two lion statues on either side (it was during his brief royalty gimmick, was that it?). At least they looked like they were a part of the stage set and not just floating graphics.
