Wojtek was a Syrian bear that was enlisted into the Polish Military and received an official rank as a Corporal.

He was moving ammunition from one to side to another in order to support the fighting company. Wojtek would drink beer and eat cigarettes, act exactly like his comrades would do.

After Wojtek’s mother killed by a hunter, he was gifted to the battalion and soon the bear would turn into a comrade and do whatever the soldiers would do, he copied how they worked, lived and eventually learned how to be a soldier.

The famous picture shows a great scenery indeed. A great co-operation between a bear and humans, amazing right?
