I was imagining just an enclosure attached to the monitor that put your own GPU in. That’s how existing external GPUs are, right?

GPUs have gotten massive. My 4090 is about 75mm thicc, and you’d need at least 10 more mm of space between the fans and whatever vents youd want. vs my old monitor which is 60mm(?) thick. Length and width are about half my monitors size. That’s a lot of empty space to build into the monitor, or a massive box to dangle off the vesa mounts.

And if things continue to get ridiculous a box that fits my 4090 now probably won’t even fit a 5080 or 5070 since all GPUs come with massive heatsinks these days.
