Where would I go if I migrated away? Most of the world is falling into authoritarianism as the child protection laws and the attempts to effectively ban OpenPGP encryption have proven. Not only that, most of us Americans only know English and a bit of Spanish (if even that).

Authoritarianism broadly speaking is just a strong central government, so I suppose it’s not always a dictatorship per say if that’s what your point is. However, even still, there would be a class of people with absolute power over the populous just like the rich towering over the poor under capitalism. So it’d essentially be the government putting the boot over your neck instead of the billionaires

Guess we really are just segregating polticial ideologies into different platforms now so everyone can continue to become radicalized into opposite directions until there’s no choice but to fight a Civil War to defeat the fascists.

Oh well, I prefer Mastodon myself. Personally, I only really use Bluesky for following content creators I like. Unfortunately, the chances of someone having a Mastodon account is rare right now (at least in my experience, but I’m still relatively new to the fediverse).
